Meet Antoinette Nue,
The Green Living Goddess…

I'm on a Mission!
My mission in life is to engage millions of people to live a greener lifestyle – a 21st century green lifestyle. What is a 21st century green lifestyle? It’s a lifestyle that’s fabulous and green – it’s your lifestyle, only greener, which is exponentially more fabulous.   It’s my job to show you the myriad of choices you can make to green your lifestyle at home, at work and at play!   I want to spread the word that green living is easy, fun, and affordable…on top of being healthy for you, your family and the planet.

How I Got Started
I had been recycling everything I could at my local farmer’s market for as long as I could remember and sensing that there had to be more… but 'more of what?' I couldn’t say. I’ve always been a flower child, and one day an insightful new acquaintance suggested I visit Southface Energy Institute. (Thanks, Norm!) I began taking courses at Southface and learned how to make my home green and learned how to build green homes.

That was the ‘more’ I had been sensing! I had an Aha! moment and realized I wanted to promote green building and sustainable development as a career and since then, my classes and independent study have opened up a phenomenal new way of living.

As my husband and I transformed our home, we started to feel better … phenomenal in fact!  Our home was not only beautiful, as it reflected our unique decorating style, it was absolutely the most comfortable place in the world and our energy bills dropped to almost half what they were before the transformation.

My Training and Expertise
Since the early days, through more formal training, independent study and work here in the U.S. and in Europe, I first expanded my sustainable development expertise to include all facets of green living – everyday lifestyle choices, home furnishings and design, fashion, food and fun, green transportation and travel; then I narrowed the focus of my work to teaching audiences the everyday choices we can each make to cut our household expenses up to 50%, create a healthier home atmosphere and reduce our impact on the environment.
And what really turns me on is teaching people how easy and sexy it is to live in harmony with our environment; and how to live a more empowered life by uncovering and acting on your deepest environmental concerns, all while honoring your personal values and spending habits.

You know…I probably would have embraced green living a lot sooner if I had known that no one would try to convert me to wearing Birkenstocks and eating granola bars.

In engaging you to go green your way, I have found my voice and my mission.

Green Living Showcase Home

Most people were speechless.  They kept saying words like “Amazing.”  Buyers were lined up and eager.

We had an impressive portfolio of renovations before moving on to our pride and joy...our "Green Living Showcase Home".   We used a comprehensive slate of green building strategies to build it, then we opened it up to the community and to other builders working in the area.  Most people didn’t know what to say.  They had never seen a home so beautiful, comfortable and healthy. (The energy they felt was Feng Shui, but we kept that a secret.)

Life Outside of Work:

My husband and I live in Clarkston, GA – a saucy little suburb of Atlanta.  We’re intermediate skiers who just graduated to the ski slopes of Utah and I’m fighting my way out of 3.5 – level tennis where I’ve been stuck since I started playing 7 years ago.   I'm also a budding Chicago Stepper!
